Paragon Announces South Korea Franchise
|
|
Jay Yoon, Joe Morabito, Bright Yoon and Liam Brennan celebrate the franchise agreement. |
Global Relocation Solutions, a leading relocation and destination service provider based in Seoul, South Korea, has become Paragon Relocation’s first franchisee in Asia. The new franchise, now called Paragon Relocation - Korea, will continue to provide relocation, housing and move management services, but will now have an added global presence and services that will benefit both companies. Paragon Relocation announced the new partnership at the ERC Workforce Summit in Shanghai, China.
“We are pleased to announce Paragon Relocation - Korea has joined the Paragon family. Being strategically located in Seoul, Paragon is uniquely positioned to provide global relocation and destination services throughout Asia,” said Joseph Morabito, president and CEO of Paragon Global Resources. “By becoming a Paragon franchise, Paragon Relocation - Korea will benefit from the global services we offer and Paragon will now have a trusted partner for our current and potential transferees that may relocate to and from South Korea.”
“Becoming a Paragon franchise allows us to access global markets for our existing customer base in Korea and assists us in developing the growing market for relocation services in Korea,” said Jay Yoon, senior manager of Global Relocation Solutions. “Without access to global networks, the potential to expand our business was limited. Now that we have joined Paragon we will be able to provide clients with services wherever their transferee is moving in the world.”

In April, Jay Yoon and Bright Yoon (no relation), general manager, attended an intensive week-long franchise training held at Paragon’s headquarters in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, with additional training being held at their office in Seoul.
Paragon Relocation opened its first franchise less than a year ago in Europe, and this new entry into the Asian market is testament to the franchise model offered by Paragon.

President's Message
2008 is proving to be a very challenging year. Our relocation volume is up related to both US domestic and international moves and we continue to sign new clients. That is the good news. However, the real estate market in many cities in the US and other countries continues to decline with an uncertain end in sight. In addition, the credit and liquidity crisis impacting the mortgage industry has spread from a US problem to other countries around the world as a result of the global financial integration that has occurred in the past several years. It is very obvious that what happens in the United States, the largest economy in the world, will always have global implications.
Of course, Paragon has done what is necessary to deal with the challenges we face. Many meetings and discussions have taken place with current clients to make sure that we have contracts, policies and procedures in place to reflect the market conditions that that exist today. As always, we are focused on maintaining our financial stability and ability to provide quality services during good times and bad. As such, I am pleased to report that service satisfaction as measured by client and customer surveys has never been higher, even though we are dealing with these difficult times. This is happening because our employees continue to do an outstanding job, focusing on our clients and customers as our primary concern.
| "...I am pleased to report that service satisfaction as measured by client and customer surveys has never been higher, even though we are dealing with these difficult times. This is happening because our employees continue to do an outstanding job, focusing on our clients and customers as our primary concern." |
At the same time, we are moving ahead as scheduled on our ten year plan to extend our reach around the world. Currently, we have company or franchise store operations in place to provide destination services in six countries, with more on the way. Ultimately, within the next three years, our goal is to have the Paragon brand in 45 countries. Of course, we also have affiliates in place to cover 120 countries. Before year end, we will establish Paragon Relocation – China with destination services offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
GenEquity Mortgage, our wholly owned subsidiary, has taken off. Effective January, 2008, we put in place the capability to fund and close corporate and/or retail mortgages throughout the United States. Given the state of the mortgage industry, the decision to become a mortgage broker/banker has proven to be fortuitous.
In order to better and more efficiently deal with our US Domestic Renter, Short Term Assignment and Lump Sum customers, we have established a Center of Excellence at our Dallas/Irving, Texas Service Center. This Center is open from 8 am – 8 pm Central Time, Monday – Friday to provide expanded hours of operations for the majority of our customers in this move category. Our Relocation Coordinators specializing in assisting these customers are better positioned than ever before to provide a high level of service.
We have also been busy working on the 2009 roll out of Paragon Career Resources to offer expanded Recruitment Services in the US and International Cross Cultural and Language Training Services throughout the world. In addition, in 2009 Paragon Decision Resources will be expanded to offer both Mobility and various Human Resource Consulting Services. Further announcements will take place in the coming months concerning both of these Paragon subsidiaries.
The people at Caterpillar, one of our major clients, often say “they are building the tractor while it is moving.” As the founder and President of Paragon, I can relate to this saying like never before. At the same time that we implement a variety of Paragon Relocation Resources services for our clients and customers around the world in accordance with high quality standards, we continue to add new but connected services and businesses that we can offer our clients. All of the pieces are moving at once. This is possible because we have a very experienced management team, dedicated employees and a variety of partners that support all of our initiatives. Most important, we have clients that we view as "Customers for Life" who make it all possible.

Paragon Introduces Newest Subsidiary with a Familiar Name

Katherine Trachta, Vice President
Paragon Decision Resources |
Five years ago, before Paragon Global Resources, Paragon Relocation Resources or any of our current subsidiaries even existed; there was one company, Paragon Decision Resources. Five years later, Paragon is going back to its roots with the name and services that started it all with a new division to the Paragon family: Paragon Decision Resources.
Paragon Decision Resources will be headed by Kathy Trachta, who was recently promoted from Senior Director of the consulting division to Vice President for Paragon Decision Resources.
"I am very excited to get the new venture underway,” said Trachta. “I am extremely proud of the staff I have on board and can’t wait to see just what they are capable of."
In addition to her time here at Paragon, Trachta has 29 years of management experience and even spent six years as an independent mobility consultant, managing her own consultancy. She knows the challenges that are up ahead but is ready to face them head-on because she is confident in Paragon Decision Resource’s potential of being a success.
The new Paragon Decision Resources will have two major focuses. The first is to market these services as a stand alone product that is separate from relocation. Some of the services that Paragon Decision Resources will offer include: contract administration services, billing and collections, e-mail and web support, representation at national conferences, national and eventually international advertising, and access to Paragon’s benefits (as permitted).
The second focus is to build an entire human resources consulting organization, which has never been done before. Paragon Decision Resources will be looking for organizations that want to license the Paragon brand. So far this has been working very well on our abroad services. The initial plan is to begin in the United States to build these organizations through licensing, or memberships, so the HR consultants can have the backup and support services needed to support their company. According to Trachta, Paragon Decision Resources also hopes to provide the consultants not only with a brand that is recognizable, but to also give them an identity with a global brand. That way, Paragon Decision Resources can offer organizations "back shop" support to set up billing, invoicing, collections, and even contract administration so they have a formal agreement.
"This new concept is designed to allow Human Resources Consultants to both operate as independent businessmen and women while gaining all the benefits of being part of a Global brand" said Joseph Morabito, President & CEO of Paragon Global Resources. "These consultants will be considered licensees that would provide their services under the Paragon name."

Paragon Relocation Holland Holds Open House

Asha Dhawan (center) and Rachel Hall (right) of Paragon Relocation Holland with Dan Leonard of Firestone Industrial Products at Paragon Relocation Holland's open house.
|
Paragon Relocation Holland hosted an open house on May 22nd, 2008, at their offices in Arnhem. The well-attended event offered a great opportunity for existing and potential clients to mix and discuss relocation. Geoff Mills, Managing Director, Paragon Relocation Holland, addressed the group and reflected on globalization and its affect on the world.
Rita Weeda, Arnhem’s City Councilor for Economic Affairs, gave an informative talk highlighting the success and focus of the Arnhem area in attracting new businesses to the region. Arnhem’s central proximity between the ports of Rotterdam and the rest of Europe offers an ideal location for companies.
Also speaking at the event was Dan Leonard, Director of Globalisation for Firestone Industrial Products, a manufacturer of air springs for truck trailers. Leonard offered glowing reports about Paragon and said its presence in Arnhem influenced Firestone selecting The Netherlands for their new plant site.
"The feedback from guests was that they were impressed by both our local operation and Paragon as a whole and several commented that they had not realized Paragon was so big," said Mills. "We had been looking forward to welcoming everyone to our office under our new name since we joined the franchise in September 2007, and the event was as wonderful as we could have hoped for. We had some wonderful speakers, lots of guests and a great time." |

We Honor Those Who Go Above and Beyond |
| |
Liam Brennan Chosen as 2007 President's Award Winner
Liam Brennan has been chosen as the 2007 President's Award winner. This is the highest honor Paragon can bestow on an employee and the recognition comes with a $500 grossed-up payment, an additional week of vacation and dinner with Paragon's senior management.
In less than 12 months with the company, Liam led the charges in signing new franchises, starting company store operations and winning new EMEA sales opportunities to help support Paragon’s business. Given the fact that Liam was new to the company and the industry, what he achieved in the first year of his employment at Paragon is outstanding.
Liam was directly involved in the negotiation and sale of Paragon’s first franchise, Paragon Relocation – Holland. He also worked very hard - and successfully - at building a good pipeline of additional franchise candidates, with Paragon Relocation – Korea becoming the company’s second franchise in February 2008 and more expected by year end.
Liam also oversaw the development of Paragon’s company store operations in both Geneva and London. Through the hard work of Liam and Tony Baldassarro, managing director of Paragon Relocation based in the UK, approximately $1.3 million in destination services and tenancy management business has been secured.
Through Liam’s oversight and the efforts of Christopher Henry, manager of EMEA business development, new business was signed with companies in Europe. Liam has been instrumental in Paragon achieving the global goals set for 2007. Directly or indirectly through Liam’s efforts, Paragon will realize nearly $2.5 million in new business opportunities in all three of his key areas of responsibility—franchise development, company store operations and EMEA sales.

Each of the recipients were chosen based upon achieving 100% satisfaction in
communication, technical and service skills. Paragon extends its gratitude for the results,

excellent service the relocation industry demands.
This year's winners include:
